Risk
Watch Safe
Communities
NFPA
understands that it is getting more challenging for Champion
Management Teams and local Champions
to get Risk
Watch implemented
in schools. As a result, “Risk
Watch Safe Communities” was developed to make
it easier to reach more children with this life-saving
program. The current Champion program is not being
replaced, NFPA is providing more options for you, our
Champions.
By making Risk
Watch a community initiative, it opens up the door to work with
different organizations and reach kids through ways other than the
classroom.
The program also encourages individuals and community groups to participate
in keeping kids safe.
Champions will still be primarily doing the same things. NFPA will just be
requesting that State Teams and Local Champions report back to us.The program will also help NFPA document the great strides that Risk Watch Champions are making not only at the state level, but at the local level as
well.
